Regenerative Tourism Initiative · Đà Nẵng, Việt Nam

Travel left a wound.
We're here to help it heal.

XomTour is a regenerative tourism initiative in Central Vietnam. We connect mindful travelers with local communities — not to consume their culture, but to learn from it, contribute to it, and leave the land better than we found it.

Our Manifesto

Tourism lost its way.
We're rewriting it.

Mass tourism generates $9 trillion annually and distributes almost none of it to the communities it depends on. The neo-liberal model treats destinations as products, cultures as amenities, and local people as scenery. We built XomTour to name this clearly — and to build something different from the ground up.

The Broken Way

Extraction masquerading as experience

  • Revenue leaks from communities to distant platforms, airlines, and operators
  • Cultural practices become performances for paying audiences who leave by Tuesday
  • Environmental impact is offset on paper — rarely eliminated in practice
  • Local families displaced from their own streets by touristification

A New Story

Travel as reciprocity

  • Revenue flows directly to community partners — no extractive intermediaries
  • Travelers enter as guests in a classroom, not consumers in a market
  • Every program is designed to restore — ecologically, economically, culturally
  • Local communities determine what is shared, what is sacred, and what stays private

"Not tours of the village. Tours with the village. Not tourism as extraction. Tourism as relationship."

— XomTour Founding Notes, 2020

Our Holistic Approach

Four commitments.
One direction.

Pillar 01

Community-Engaged Learning

Travelers enter local communities as curious guests, not observing audiences. Farmers, artisans, and educators lead — not perform. Knowledge flows in both directions.

Explore Cultural programs

Pillar 02

Climate Gastronomy

Food is the first casualty of climate disruption. Learning to eat with the land — what grows here, why, and what happens when it can't — is urgent ecological literacy.

Pillar 03

Economic Empowerment

Revenue flows directly to community partners. Our pricing ensures the majority of every payment stays with the people who made the experience possible. No extractive intermediaries.

Explore Economy programs

Pillar 04

Regenerative Ecology

Every activity restores. Whether planting mangroves, learning traditional water stewardship, or reducing waste — travelers leave the environment better than they found it.

Our Ecosystem

A network built on shared values, not shared profits.

Every partner in our network has made a genuine commitment: to community sovereignty, ecological restoration, and honest hospitality. These are not vendors. They are co-creators of a new story of travel.

Before a partner joins the ecosystem, we ask one question: does the majority of the value you create stay within the community that created it? If the answer is no, we are not the right fit.
