The story
For hospitality providers, guides and changemakers: community learning tourism in practice at Hòa Bắc, with the Cơ Tu community and the Cu Đê river basin as the classroom. Group projects, reflection, closing presentations.
Program
Day 1Introduction to community learning tourism: a homestay in Nam Yên, Hòa Bắc; the cooperative's approach; the Cu Đê river community, traditional fishing and water conservation
Day 2Water resources and traditional agriculture: walking and cycling in Nam Yên; forests, water and farming; a night walk in the rice fields
Day 3The cultural heritage of the Cơ Tu: forest walks and storytelling with the community
Day 4Sustainable development principles: theory and project design; cycling in Phò Nam village; team projects
Day 5The Cu Đê river basin, from upstream to the coast: how natural resources shape livelihoods
Day 6Community resource discovery: untapped resources; refining the group projects; a cultural exchange
Day 7Final presentations, reflection and closing
