The story

A study tour and exchange program that brings youth from South Korea together with members of Vcil Community in Vietnam, to explore the social, historical and cultural ties between the two nations. Through Vietnam's political, social and economic structures, and shared reflection on war, division and recovery, participants build connections and draw inspiration for peace-building on the Korean peninsula.

The program tells Vietnam's journey from the devastation of war to recovery and progress. Participants hear stories of resilience, empathize with victims of war, witness its long-lasting impacts and embrace the universal value of peace. Through shared learning, friendship and mutual understanding, it highlights how Korea and Vietnam can work together for peace and social change.

This pilgrimage is more than a historical tour: it is a chance to reflect on shared histories, honor the resilience of communities, and build a shared vision of peace and understanding between Korea and Vietnam.

Itinerary

Day 1Đà Nẵng — Vietnam's socio-economic context; meeting Vcil Community; a peace and war mini-concert
Day 2Phong Nhị and Phong Nhất, and Hà My memorial sites; a support center for Agent Orange victims; to Huế
Day 3Quảng Trị — Trường Sơn cemetery, the Mine Action Visitor Center, the DMZ, Vịnh Mốc tunnels
Day 4Huế — the Citadel; Thiên Mụ pagoda; Từ Hiếu, root temple of Thích Nhất Hạnh
